October 3rd - Alex Fout, a second year graduate student in the Statistics department, will be presenting about the data science research he did this summer as one of 23 graduate fellows for the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy Data Science for Social Good Fellowship. His research was on transportation infrastructure in Jakarta, Indonesia, to create a system that will flag risky events on city streets. If you're curious about data science, come to this meeting at 4pm-5pm in Stats 006.

October 29th - Instead of a regular meeting on the 31st, we will be having a coffee study hour at 5pm in Mugs on Laurel and Howes. You can come to meet the officers of the club, study, and meet other people within the department, while enjoying a favorite local hang.
